What is an electronic cigarette?

The Electronic Cigarette (also known as a personal vaporiser) is a battery-powered item which imitates a traditional tobacco cigarette. It delivers nicotine without any combustion or odour associated with tobacco cigarettes. Using an e-cigarette or “vaping” mimics the sensation of smoking while satisfying the hand-to-mouth requirement that smokers have.

What are the benefits of vaping?

  • No flame, no burning tobacco or any other substances

  • No tar

  • No unpleasant odours or tobacco smells clinging to clothes and hair

  • Not banned under the UK smoking ban

  • Simulates smoking

  • Less costly than smoking

  • No smoke irritation to your eyes

  • Huge choice of flavours.

  • Controllable nicotine level (or even zero nicotine)

  • More flexible – you can take one or two puffs if you want, rather than feeling you have to finish or waste a whole cigarette.

  • No more matches, lighters, ashtrays and dirty smelly cigarette butts.

How do e-cigarettes work?

E-cigarettes generally consist of three main parts:

  • A mouthpiece/cartridge,
  • An atomizer
  • A rechargeable battery

Upon inhalation, the heating element (atomiser) inside the unit heats the liquid nicotine (stored in the cartridge) into a fine vapour that replicates the look and feel of smoke.

How long do the parts last?

Generally the Cartomizers and batteries last about 6-10 weeks, dependent on usage.
At Paddy Puff, we offer you a month guarantee on all parts*, so if one of your parts stops working, you can return it for a replacement within this 30 days time period.
The eGo specifications allow for 100 charges, which is roughly 3 months. However, with regular maintenance and cleaning, many users have found their battery to last alot longer than this.

What is e-liquid?

E-liquid or nicotine liquid, are the names given to the diluted nicotine fluid that is used in e-cigarettes.  Each Nicofresh E-liquid contains four main ingredients:

  • Propylene Glycol
  • Vegetable Glycerine
  • Flavour Concentrate
  • Nicotine

Propylene Glycol is a non-toxic, food-grade chemical that is used in many different foods as a flavour carrier. It is added to E liquid because of the hit at the back of your throat feeling it gives when it is inhaled as a vapour.
Vegetable Glycerine is another food-grade substance that is slightly thicker and sweeter than Propylene Glycol. Only a small amount (around 20%) is added to Nicofresh E liquid because it can be difficult to convert to vapour on its own.
Flavouring Concentrates are simply agents to that add the specific taste to the e-liquid- they come in Tobacco flavours, Fruit Flavours, Mint Flavours and Sweet Flavours.
Nicotine is added in different strengths in order to mimic the true nicotine yield of a traditional cigarette- the solution is produced which contains a fixed percentage of nicotine. For example, a 12mg cartridge is made from a solution which contains 12mg nicotine per 100ml of liquid or expressed as a percentage, approximately 1.2% nicotine.
